Nagavarshini Mayakkannan, B.E.,(Biomedical Engineering) is a Junior Research fellow (JRF) working in the Neurovascular Symbiosis (NVS) Team of Computational Neuroscience Laboratory, IITM. Her research interest mainly focuses on studying the neurovascular interaction to find the etiology of neurodegenerative diseases of vascular origin using a simplified and abstract model. She has worked on the following projects:

  • Studying the nature of connectivity among the vascular network in the Visual Barrel Cortex by using a bidirectionally connected GCAL network representing the NeuroVascular network
  • Artificial Neurovascular network consisting of MLP bidirectionally connected to a vascular tree to show the significance of training the vascular network for efficient neural performance.
  • Observing Attractor Dynamics in the ANVN while trying to find the optimal network size with respect to the efficient energy consumption
  • Studying the characteristics of the Oscillatory network

She believes that “The only journey is the one within." words by Rainer Maria Rilke and that there is no end for introspection. She is also a peruse book reader.
